Spean Bridge Mill (Edinburgh Woollen Mill)
The Mill has now re-opened after the fire that devastated this popular visitor attraction in January last year. It stocks a wide range of ladies and menswear, a large selection of Scottish themed gifts and has an in-house whisky store and coffee shop serving home baking.
New footpath to historic High Bridge
A new public footpath has just opened linking Spean Bridge to the historic remains of General Wade's High Bridge. This two mile easy walk meanders through oak and birch woodland and then continues high above the River Spean as it spills through an impressive gorge by the romantic ruins of the bridge. It was at High Bridge that the first shots were fired in the Jacobite Uprising in 1745. You will also have the chance to admire the spectacular mountain panorama from the Commando Memorial.
